The VÁR-CAMPING is a friendly little camp-site in the hills, on the highest inhabited spot of the settlement, right next to the Sirok Castle.
As the hill accommodating the castle is rather steep, the camp-site was built on cascades. Directly by the camp-site, as the continuation of the castle ditch - there is a ravine, bordered by a fence.
Altogether 8 chalets are built on the various cascades, comprising 14 separate rooms and 45 beds (with additional beds 49).
We furnished the houses with basic equipment (bed, drawers, bed sheets, hangers, garden table and chairs).
You can wash and cook in a separate building.
Discover the Sirok Castle!
The castle is North of the center of Sirok, the point-to-point distance is 900 m and the difference in elevation is 100 m. There are signs throughout the village to show the way to the castle. During opening hours of the castle you have to pay a pedestrian- and a car entry ticket, in exchange of this fee you can use the parking lot. From here you can walk to the castle. The distance is 500m, the difference in elevation is 50 m. The exhibition are of the castle can only be visited during opening hours, entry is subject to purchase of a ticket. In the lower castle you can find a museum, and the excavations just have finished in the upper castle, those can be visited as well. A picturesque route around the castle is inviting you for a walk. There are two special rocks for about 400m from the entrance named Friend and Nun, which can be found in the tourist route.

Visit us for many great adventures. The 30 km vicinity of Sirok is full of natural values, thermal baths, museums, exhibitions, castles and mansions. We recommend that you make a star shape touring route in the vicinity. For one day you can plan to visit Recsk, Parád, Parádfürdő, Kékestető, Mátraháza and Sástó, all of them alongside road 24. , the other day you can spend in the newly renovated Bükkszék bath, a third full day in Eger and it is worth to visit Egerszalók or the Demjén cave bath as well. And if you are tired of the hustle and bustle, get away from it to Nyírjes swamp close to Sirok, or to the volcano crater in Verpelét. You can find something to do for a whole week here.
